Siena and the Palio Race

29th June or 13th August
FIRENZE - SIENA

Check-in and welcome cocktail in hotel.
Dinner at the restaurant and overnight at the hotel.

30th June or 14th August
FLYING WITH BALLOON over SIENA

Breakfast at the hotel. Early in the morning transfer by shuttle to the closest aerostat to meet the pilot who will explain you the most important phases of the excursion. If the weather is good the balloon will fly over Siena city. After the landing the participants will celebrate the excursion with champagne.
Transfer to San Gimignano for a guided tour of the medieval town. Chance to taste the typical Vernaccia at a characteristic winery of the historical centre.
Return to the hotel in Siena for dinner and overnight.

1st July or 15th August
SIENA

Breakfast at the hotel. A specialised guide in the history of Palio will lead the participants along the streets of the city and Contrada, visiting also a Contrada museum with flags and ancient Sienese dresses. Light lunch with typical products.
In the afternoon the participants will assist to the horse race (prova generale).
Outdoor dinner at a Contrada with the “contradaioli” (Sienese people belonging to the Contrada) celebrating the Palio feast with choirs, songs and coloured flags and eating typical food and drinking good wine.
Return to the hotel for the overnight.

2nd July or 16th August
SIENA

Breakfast at the hotel. Relax in the early morning before meeting the guide who will lead throughout the Palio feast for the all day long. After the benediction of the horse in the Contrada church and a visit of the Cathedral with the flags, the participants will taste the magic and enchanted atmosphere of the Palio tradition, made of colours, emotions and particular feelings. Light lunch before sitting on the tribunes or balconies of piazza del Campo to assist to the famous “corteo storico” (show in the square of the “contradaioli” with coloured flags and wearing the ancient dresses representing pieces of the Sienese history).
After the horse race, candle-lighted dinner at a characteristic restaurant of Piazza del Campo where people will be celebrating the Contrada winner the Palio for the all night long.
Return to the hotel for the overnight stay.

3rd July or 17th Augusut
SIENA

INDIVIDUAL PARTICIPATION FEE €1.295,00 (minimum 4 persons)

The fee includes: stay at a three stars superior hotel of Siena, in double room; half board; balloon fly; dinner in Contrada; ticket for tribune or balcony for the Palio; wine tasting and light lunches; guided tours of San Gimignano and Siena.
The fee doesn’t include: drinks at meals; monument or museum entrance fee and whatever is not included under the title “the fee includes”.
